These Books Really Helped Me A Lot.

I am very grateful to my friend Michelle who gave me these books to read. As I am a stay at home pregnant wife, I had more than enough time to educate myself and read books that are truly helpful during my pregnancy.

At the moment, I finished reading the second book, and I learned a lot from it. I like that there are advices that say what I'm supposed to ask my Ob during my routine check ups because, seriously, when I'm in my Ob's clinic, all I could think about is to see my baby in the ultrasound and when I do, I forget about important stuff to ask. So before I go for check ups, I make sure I have a list of things to ask so I won't forget.

I also like reading What to Expect because, I really feel empowered to know what I'm supposed to expect, like for example, am I supposed to feel this way and that, or have I just gone really mental and become a totally different person altogether.

If you plan to get pregnant, or you already are, then these books are definitely worth every minute of your time to prepare yourself. Especially if you are here in Dubai and prenatal classes are just so expensive and so not funny. You have to make do with youtube and all the reading materials you can find online.

Preparing The Hospital Bag

I made my research among my friends and through the internet and these are the three lists that prove to be very essential for me. =) I thank one of my friends Vida for making a list of all the things she needed at the hospital during her daughter Lauren's birth. She delivered at the same hospital and  we even have the same OB so I figured, she would really know the essentials I will need during my labor and delivery.

I posted my list on instagram and some of my friends commented and I am now in the process of updating my list. =)

I have yet to find going home outfit for me and my baby Julia Kaitlin as there are so many clothes Ive shopped and I don't know which one to choose. =)

Soo excited =)

My Baby Shower

I am so happy my friends and family threw a baby shower for me and baby Julia Kaitlin =) I was beginning to think that I wouldn't be thrown any, hahaha.

It was a fun night filled with laughter, food and lots of gift giving, I love everything about it. I love the colors my friends and sister picked for the shower because they know that green is my favorite color =)

It was hosted by Monet, Jelousy, and my sister Regine. =) Here are some pictures in this happy celebration of my pregnancy journey with our little one.

The Dreaded Glucose Test

The day came for my glucose test. And weeks before this day, I tried my very best not to eat rice and sweets. I avoided Cadbury Flake like the plague. Haha. I was instructed to fast from 11 in the evening until the next day before the test. This was a challenge as I always have snacks late at night so I don't have hunger pangs early in the morning. I don't know how I did it, but I managed to fast for the fear of failing my glucose test and end up having Gestational Diabetes which I was a high risk for because both my mom and dad have diabetes. So me and hubby arrived in the laboratory on time and blood was drawn from me and also had urine sample taken. After that,  I was given this drink. I had to drink all of its contents and wait an hour for another blood test to be done. I felt sick and wanted to throw up. I told the nurse I feel like throwing up and she said that I could if I wanted to but I had to do the test all over again. Arggggh. And so I held it in, the feeling was horrible. I also felt scared because I read about how other pregnant women who felt sick, nauseous, weak all failed the test. So I was starting to get paranoid and very sick to my stomach.

This drink is eeew and just so sweet it made me sick.
Ouch!

Ouchy Ouch!
After three blood works and urine tests done,  I finished the test! =) We came at 9 in the morning and we were out of the hospital at around 1-ish in the afternoon. I was starving and weak but  happy that I completed the test and did not have to do it all over again! When the tests came out after 2 days, I found out I passed, and was so happy,  I ate cake =)

I was so happy I passed and so I celebrated by eating a slice
of  Ube Macapuno Cake from Sweet Indulgence =)
